With over 35 years at the forefront of technology, Mary Snapp led Microsoft Philanthropies at its inception, working to ensure computer science access for K–12 students and to develop Microsoft’s Tech for Good software services. As a lawyer, she worked at Microsoft, side-by-side with engineers who write software code, all the way up to its C-suite executives. She was the first female lawyer at Microsoft, a “deal” lawyer for large mergers & acquisitions, and a deputy general counsel leading teams handling commercial transactions and providing counsel on IP, marketing, antitrust, and privacy issues, including interfacing with leaders in federal and state governments.
Most recently, she was a Microsoft ambassador for AI technology worldwide and for rural economic development across the United States.
Mary has served on the boards of many nonprofit organizations in the human services, youth development, agriculture and arts sectors. She currently serves on the President’s Advisory Board at the University of Michigan, the Seattle Art Museum, Washington STEM, the National 4-H Council, Emerging Prairie in Fargo, North Dakota, and Farm Foundation. She is also active as a board member in the agtech start-up community.
Mary graduated from the University of Kansas School of Journalism, Wayne State University’s MBA program, and the University of Michigan Law School.
