Renita Kay Garnett, Student Athlete, 1982:

Women’s Track team, 1983:
In 1983, Bellevue College’s women’s track team achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the NWAC Champions, a testament to their hard work and athletic prowess. Bill O’Connor, Athletics Director, 2003–2017:
Bill O’Connor served as Bellevue College’s Athletic Director for 14 years. He is recognized for his dedication and leadership and credited with the revival of the golf program, which has flourished to become one of the top programs in the region and the Northwest Athletic Conference. A former basketball star and coach, O’Connor remains a familiar presence at home sporting events, reflecting his commitment to the college’s athletic community.
Scott Knoblich, Athletics Coach, 1978–1984:
Scott Knoblich is celebrated for his exceptional coaching career at Bellevue College, where he led the women’s track and cross-country teams to notable success. His expertise and dedication were instrumental in guiding both the men’s and women’s cross-country teams to state championships, earning him the prestigious title of Coach of the Year. With a rich background in track, Knoblich’s coaching was not just about winning races but also about nurturing athletes to reach their full potential. His legacy at Bellevue College is marked by a tradition of excellence and a commitment to the sport that continues to inspire current athletes and coaches.
Jason Chapman, Athletics Coach, 1998–2019:
Jason Chapman has made a significant mark as the former coach of Bellevue College’s tennis teams. He took on the challenge of coaching both the men’s and women’s tennis teams following the revival of the men’s program after a 17-year hiatus. Under his leadership, four men’s and 14 women’s NWAC championships were won. Chapman’s coaching was recognized when he was named NWAC Coach of the Year multiple times, an honor reflecting his ability to bring out the best in his athletes. His legacy at Bellevue College is one of excellence, dedication, and a deep passion for tennis.
Al Courter, Athletics Supporter:
Al Courter’s contributions to Bellevue College are both significant and multifaceted. He has been a major donor to the college, with his generosity extending over decades. Courter’s support led to numerous upgrades to the college’s athletics facilities, including the Courter Baseball Field, which is recognized as one of the top baseball facilities in the Pacific Northwest.
